Summary:
This week in my reading Anna finally gets tired of constantly having to donate things to her sister Kate by the time she turns thirteen. Only because they now want her to donate her kidney and the process might kill both Kate and Anna. Basically Anna feels as if she has been used and she doesnt have a say or purpose as to what she does to help her sister. Now Anna brings the law into this so that for once since she was born she can have a say. Anna's mother was a ex-lawyer and this whole case cause alot of tension in the house making it so that Anna had to go live with her father. Come to find out during the trial Kate had told Anna to bring the lawsuit because she thinks she is going to die anyways and she doesnt want her sister to suffer anymore for her. In Anna's favor the court makes Campbell have medical power. After the trial they was on their way home and they had gottened into a car accident. Anna had become unconsious and they was rushed to the hospital. Anna is pronounce brain dead and said that it is pointless them still keeping her alive under all those machines. They then took her kidney and donated it to her sister and saved the rest of her organs for future donation. She then dies for her sister and Kate lives. And Campbell and Julia got married.
Quote:
" What is ethical to a lawyer differs from whats ethical to the rest of the world " ( Picoult 214 )
- What made this quote stand out to me is because I want to be a lawyer, and what i realized by seeing this is that statement is actually right. Lawyers like to argue for people whether they are defending or prosecuting they will always have a different perspective because they master themselves more in it. Regular people do not have the same perspective because they see things under different opinions and sometimes out of lack of understanding the fact and matter.
Reaction:
My reaction on this weeks reading was that my book is going to be finish. Reading this book made me open my eyes more, but it has not help me with my reading skills and bringing them up. The book had some type of challenge to me, but it wasn't that effective. I am looking forward to Term 3's reading book , hopefully by the end of the year all these roar posts and reading will advance me for my future dreams of becoming a lawyer. Also I think it was pretty sad how she was fighting to make things better for herself, but ends up dying and saving her sister. This book is like a mixture of romance, seriousness, and the love for a family member.

Summary:
Julia was chilling with Campbell and then after he left she started crying her little eyes out. Izzy happens to walk in after all that. Their relationship was supposed to be professional, but ironically something happened between that relationship. After all that controversy they had a big pet fish, apparently something happened to it so they took it to the vet . No one knows how to treat fish. Come to find out the only problem was that the fishes water needed to be changed regularly. They was treating the stupid fish like a baby spending the night with it.
Quote:
" pardon me if you and Romeo were having your little tête-à-tête " ( Picoult 149 )
- When I first seen this quote it caught my eyes because of the dialect. i have no idea what tête-à-tête means but i thought it was pretty funny because it had a base of Romeo. Most likely it was a way to make Julia feel bad for her little attitude towards Izzy.
Reaction:
My reaction to this weeks reading was that it wasn't as enjoyable as last week . I did read alot of things that were pretty advisable and i put it to good use . Other than that it was like typical reading for me .

Summary:
This week Brian has taken Jesse to the hospital to get his blood drawn which is supposed to be a simple procedure with a stick in the finger. He needed to be restrained by two guys and Brian. The purpose of the blood being drawn was to see if he matches Kate's blood type and can help donate the blood to her to help her with her luekemia. Unfortunately he wasnt a match for her so she would have to wait until there was someone else willing to donate that fit the type. There was a wilted plant sitting at the window sill and it was as if it reflected Kate and how she was slowly dying if she didnt get help fast enough. Kate's mom was obviously devasted and thought that the doctors were treating her like some type of machine. Later in the book Campbell had to go to court so they can file custody for him. he was either with his mother or his father. He really didnt want to go but he said he knew he had to. I didnt read far enough to get the end results.
Quotations:
" We all need to cool off a little." " I have one child who's just signed her sister's death sentence, and I'm supposed to cool off?" [ Picoult 91 ]
- What I like the most about this quote is the way it was worded. It made the book seem so real. i could actually connect to it. It like painted and image in my head of the anger she was feeling and maybe the tears. I could some what feel her pain and relate, but sadly this is just a fiction story.
Reaction:
My reaction to this weeks reading was that it was sweet. I felt like I read this section of the book at a perfect week . The book seems so real to me. Even tho its a book it just always seems to bother me even from the time i started reading the book was how Kate had gotten Leukemia. It said she got it at birth but that still doesn't explain much for me. I think its sad i would never want to lose my brother to something like that. I rather it be other circumstances that's why i think the narrator of the book which is Kate's mom is very strong about this whole thing.
