My sister's keeper Page 1-19

Summary:

The title of the book that I am currently reading is called " My Sister's Keeper " By: Jodi Picoult. The book is a novel that is written in sections by others perspectives. Starting with Anna, she was just a little girl wanting to know why babies were made. She is a very intelliegent girl, she never did as the other students did in class she was mainly worried about why many woman only had one kid, why some had more, how kids came to how they were. The reason she cares so much about how kids came along was because she doesnt feel as if she was normally created, because a scientist had put her fathers sperm together with her mom and thats how she was made. She felt like she wasnt one of those mistaken child, her parents had planned her, but she also felt like she didnt really belong because she doesnt think she was created properly. Her parents sat her down and explained to her the process and how babies are originally created but the reason to her new way of coming.

Quote:
" We loved you even more," my mother made sure to say," because we knew exactly what we were getting."( Picoult 8)

- What this quote means to me is that her parents must have been trying really hard to get children, but that didnt happen so they went to have to have her inserted. They really wanted her, so I don't think Anna should feel any way about the way she came into the world, because like she did say she could " still be floating up in Heaven or wherever waiting to be attached to a body to spend more time on Earth" ( :Picoult 8)

Reaction:

My reaction on this weeks reading was pretty judgemental. When I first went to get the book I judged the book by its cover in order to pick it out. I do not regret my choice though because I think the book is pretty good and well interesting so far. Hopefully as I read more my reaction towards the book expands. :-)
